Based on three design strategies (historic legacy, flow and enhancement), the vision takes inspiration from the archipelago nature, borrowing elements from the historical tree boulevards of Turku. These features have been reinterpreted, envisioning the port front as an extension of the city center and a continuous public shore park. At the meeting point between the Archipelago Sea, the city and the port, the area is designed as an attractive meeting place for residents and travelers, with a lively urban shore full of outdoor and pop-up activities and a “museum island”. The castle returns to be the focal point of the entire area by recovering the historic collective imaginary.
