Artist’s Statement
As a visual artist, I explore landscape through black ink and gold leaf, translating my observations and research into sensitive visual images. My drawings reinterpret space by conveying the materiality of individual elements through patterns that reflect the history, context, and form of places. My work spans landscape architecture, urbanism, and garden design, offering interpretations of space through distinctive elements rendered in pattern, and shaped by perspective, geometry, and material. These artworks tell the stories of specific places, capturing their identity, fragility, and evolution. Each drawing becomes an evocative narrative that engages the viewer emotionally, where balance is achieved through the “thought of the landscape.” A measured thought that gives form to emotion.
