Dimension: 4.518 sq m

Year: 2021

CONTEXT • Neuerburg has a cinematic sequence of public spaces perched on the mountain slopes of the slate rock West Eifel. The central Market Square welcomes the tourists’ first stop and is the main core of the town.

PROPOSAL • The concept of the square is all around the concept of soil and identity. The design act is an incision on the terrain to generate a sitting of slate dry stone, which is also the regional identity of the picturesque old town. This simple and strong line defines the space of the square, like a hug of the whole public space and reinforces the cinematic effect of the panoramic point, that distinguishes the whole town.
